Changes to SAHRIS!

The South African Heritage Resources Information System (SAHRIS) has undergone a generational upgrade and restructure. These changes to the site include, but are not limited to:

Following comments received on the proposed Revised Schedule of Fees for applications made to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA), made in terms of Section 25(2)(l) of the National Heritage Resources Act No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) and published in the Government Gazette of 22 July 2022, SAHRA hereby publishes the final Revised Schedule of Fees for Applications made to SAHRA. Applications for provision of services submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority (SAHRA), in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act, No. 25 of 1999 (NHRA) must be accompanied by a payment of the appropriate fee, taking effect from 1 January 2023

Proposed 147-hectare in-situ housing development on Farm Portions 30 and 40 of Farm 797 and the remainder of Portion 6 of Farm 797 of Rensburg Drift.

Expanded_Motivation: 

The Municipality has initiated a process to provide subsidized housing within its area of jurisdiction to provide its inhabitants with formalised urban housing in an attempt to address the ever-increasing urban housing demand experienced within the proposed project area and its surrounds. The proposed project area has an extent of approximately 147 hectares and is located within Ward 18 of the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality. The project will entail an in-situ upgrade and formalisation of the existing residential units on site and additional Subsidised housing units have been proposed. The project will entail the installation of water and/or sewerage reticulation pipelines for the transportation of water and sewerage. The development proposes the in-situ upgrade of 600 units and the construction of approximately 400 greenfield subsidised housing units. Erven has been set aside for the existing Cemetery, a Community Hall, Creche, Road networks, electrical servitudes, a Sports Facility, a Transport Facility and Worship land-uses. The vast majority of this project entails the formalisation of existing households. The amount of Greenfield that will need to be cleared is under 20 hectares. Various sanitation options will be investigated, although VIP’s are the most feasible option due to the lack of bulk sewerage infrastructure in the area. Water will be supplied by the uThukela District Municipality.
